Holy Dutch Ovens Batman!

Elyse got a kick out of the comment I left her saying, "Holy Turnovers Batman!" I can't take full credit, however. I was inspired by a Twitter reply from Clara (the awesome genius behing iheartcuppycakes.com). Ever since then, I can't get the "Holy *insert word here* Batman" phrase out of my head!

Anyway, I totally got the deal of the CENTURY at TJ Maxx yesterday! If you're in the market for a Dutch oven (or two), you really need to get in your car and head over there right now. Even if you don't need one, this deal is too good to pass up! If they don't have them at TJ Maxx, never fear! Marshall's has them too! I bought these two Cuisinart enamel cast-iron dutch ovens for a fraction of their price! The red one is a 7 quart round Dutch oven (or covered casserole), and it was on clearance for $49! It's a $129.95 value according to cuisinart.com!
The blue one is 5.5 quart oval Dutch oven, and I stole it for $39! It's $99.95 at cuisinart.com! If you're counting, I saved $141.90!! My head is spinning with ideas to use these things. I want to make bread using the famous method mentioned in the NY Times about cooking it in a 500F Dutch oven... I wanna make soup... stew... I might even learn to braise. Oh the possibilities! If you have a favorite recipe using a Dutch oven, please suggest it! And then get to TJ Maxx FAST!
Oh I almost forgot! I also found this Chicago Metallic checkerboard cake pan set for $5.99 (just in case a certain cake wins this month's poll over at "The Cake Slice"). And they had a bunch of P.B. Loco peanut butter for $4.99! I've seen other bloggers talk about this stuff, so I had to try it. And how could anyone pass up Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavored peanut butter?
By the way, I just did a store locator search on the P.B. Loco website. Turns out they sell it at a bunch of local grocery stores near me!

You have to make the no knead bread in your shiny new dutch oven! It is the best.

Sweet - I never get deals like that in the Marshals in NYC. They all suck. those pots are a lifesaver. I caught a great sale at Macys one day and use mine for pretty much everything.

I have a checkerboard cake pan set myself. Everytime I make a cake with that set, I get all excited. I do my little happy dance.

I'm jealous! I got a dutch oven at TJ Maxx a couple years ago for $29 but it was a generic brand--nothing fancy like Cuisinart which would totally match the rest of my pots and pans.. and half my appliances..

Hey I'm Dutch :D! Holy moly, $99.95 for a Dutch oven pan?!?! The prices of Cuisinart makes my head spin.

Amazing bargain! Last week at TJs I got some Le Creuset stoneware for $14.99 a piece! I almost bought the dutch oven too, but even a t $149 it was a little expensive at the time. I am dreaming about it though and have serious plans to go back.

Oh... is there any way I can rationalize going to T.J. Maxx and Marshall's instead of doing these job applications?

I guess if I don't get a job I won't be able to purchase anything anyway. :) Back to the apps for the time being!

And chocolate cookie dough peanut butter?! That sounds so oddly amazing.

Holy dutch oven Batman! ;) I seriously need to take a shopping trip to TJ Maxx one of these days. You always find the sweet deals.

Oh my gosh, thank you for posting this!! I am so going over there today. ;-)

I have wanted one for awhile..hmmm..
oh, but be careful with the bread recipe. my friend tried it with her le cruset and it ruined it. turned it all dark and yucky inside. she decided to get a cheap one for the recipe cuz it's a great recipe!

I have that exact same red Le Creuset pan and it's by far one of my favorite kitchen items ever. I got mine as a gift, but even if you paid full price for it, it would be worth every penny.

I must find that PB Loco now. That sounds too good to be true.

OMG, you totally got a bargain! I bought my 9 qt at a LeCreuset outlet store, but didn't get anywhere near the discount you got. I have to go hunt in my TJMaxx and see what they have.

That peanut butter is not for me (I'm an Adam's girl), but I love Chicago Metallic cookware. And those Cuisinart pots....fabulous deal! I've looked at the ones at LeCreuset, but I can't afford them.

Hey, saw your comment on my blog about the videogame - if you want a copy, just go to the page i linked and post up the picture of the game. and then email them saying that you posted it and they'll send you a code to get the game. if you can't find the email address i can email it to you. but i just posted it bc i used to work in game marketing and i enjoy the game :)

Hahaha, thanks for the shout out! It's so funny because before I read the post, I just saw the title, and I was going to comment about loving the phrase. Okay, so now I'm going to try it out: Holy Great Deal Batman! Nope, it doesn't sound as cool when I say it. But, really, what a great deal! I want to run out and get myself a Dutch Oven now!

That's a great deal on dutch ovens. And on a Cuisinart, too! Somewhat jealous :)

I got my dutch oven in an absolutely secret sale at wal-mart. It is Lodge, and it was originally $65, and I got it for $15. There was nothing to indicate it was on sale. This was recently, and it may not be on all colors.
