Cupcake Poll #18 - Sprinkles Cupcake Mix

One of my favorite birthday presents from last year was definitely the Sprinkles Cupcake Mixes, one vanilla and one red velvet. I wanted to save them for a special occasion, but everytime a special event came up I thought of something else. So now I'm going to use them before they begin to fossilize. I'm leaving it up to you to decide which one I use first, but both will be used within the next 2 weeks. Feel free to comment here, but votes only count in the poll on the left-hand side!
"Savor a Sprinkles cupcake from the comfort of your own kitchen!
Introducing Sprinkles Cupcake Mixes made from the finest ingredients,
including Callebaut cocoa and Nielsen-Massey vanilla,
and complete with our trademark modern dot decorations."

I made the red velvet a few weeks ago from the Sprinkles mix and it was delicious, but be careful...the dust from the package can get everywhere and you'll see red for weeks.

Hi Cassie (I'm a Cassie too)...I have made both and I like the red velvet with the cream cheese frosting. I think the vanilla cake is too dry. I have the dark chocolate, but haven't made it yet.

Ditto on the red velvet dust comment from keesha.

RED VELVET!!! I love red velvet... I need to make one as that is something I have yet to blog! AND I am a bit OBSSESSED with red velvet cake! I prefer it with vanilla frosting... the cream cheese seems to over power the cake... but that's just me :O)

i went for Vanilla as i have only ever heard negative 'dry' comments about Sprinkles RV mix.

I have Sprinkles mixes from '07, too! All the flavors are still in the shopping bag. I'd like to hear the results of the vanilla. Inquiring taste buds want to see if it's better than a regular cake mix... taste and texture. Thanks for your fun blog!

Hey Cassie. I read this and decided to pick up a canister of this cake mix myself. I brought the lemon flavor. I'll wait until you make and taste them before giving you my feedback.

I liked the vanilla mix. But, I know both of them probably taste good! I have been tempted to buy the Sprinkles mix, but I am always too cheap!
